or you will be taught to fly

When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing One of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.

Reminds me of a poem by Christopher Logue, an English poet born in 1926 (see http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Christopher_Logue for explanation of how it came to be associated with Apollinaire).

    Come to the edge.
    We might fall.
    Come to the edge.
    It’s too high!
    COME TO THE EDGE!
    And they came,
    and he pushed,
    and they flew.
