Thanks to an invite from Dan Martell [twitter], I had a chance to participate in the first Kiva Developer Garage where over 25 developers, marketers, and community strategists hacked around on the new Kiva API. There are some very cool projects going public very soon: a share this component, a wordpress widget, some facebook integrations, and one super-secret widget that Johann Romefort [twitter] worked on.
I didn’t have much of a chance to consult on community strategy of the projects themselves, because I spent most of my time working on the video above. I hope it inspires other developers to hack around on the API. I will also be working on a few other projects to help build the developer community.
