going to church

This is the kind of place where you all at once completely fit in and know you don’t belong. Everyone is intersting; no one is trying. It’s a little corner of the world where all the people just fit–the last remaining corner coffee house. God is not dead, the church is. But people still find space in their life for liturgy, community, and the kind of conversations that give you peace, give you hope, and take time. You might even find God in a coffee house–between the tables, in the empty chairs, in the bus tubs, at the door greeting you as you walk in, and blessing you on your way out. God is in the accidental touches while you pass by, the smile-glance-away when you’re looking around and accidentally catch someone’s eye.
