normal?

Kim and I have been watching Amazing Medical Stories on TLC all night. Words and phrases like normal, abnormal, like-everyone-else, better, and freak have been used on numerous occasion. On one hand, I am amazed by what modern science is capable of and I’m sure these people will have “better” lives because of it. I mean, one guy didn’t even have half of his face until a prosthesis was created to magnetically insert into a huge hole in his head. That’s amazing. I don’t have a problem with they guy getting a face. But something deep down inside of me worries more about the huge gaping holes in many peoples hearts and souls. Who is going to be the miracle doctor to fill those voids?
