I’ve seen it done. You might mean something like: “Arguing (for/against/other word/maybe nothing) faith is a fruitless endeavor.” I really don’t believe you can argue faith. Maybe you can argue about faith, or argue about topics related to faith. But faith is faith. You can’t argue faith.
