ad-vent n: the arrival of something important or awaited.
“Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the end because he doesn’t want anyone lost.” -2 Peter 3 The Message
There are days when I just want to go home. Days when I wonder why I can’t just go up to heaven and be done with this screwed up place. But then God always seems to bring someone through my life who gives me a reason to stay. Someone who won’t be there with me someday. And that tears me right back down to earth. To think that Jesus loved us enough to be torn down to earth, take our sin and shame from the cradle to the grave, and give us hope for eternity.
Come, Lord Jesus, Come
