Tonight our friends Jason and Erin invited us over to their apartment for dinner. Jason found a recipe today that he wanted to try out, and I’m glad he did. I don’t even remember the name–something with chickpeas and spices and rice and mint and garlic–but it was good. Kim got the recipe, so I’m sure we will have it again soon.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy sharing a meal in someone’s home. I even had fun helping with the dishes after! In the past, Jason and Erin have been our “going out to eat” friends, but I have to tell you, this was our best meal yet. We’re thinking it would be pretty sweet if we could find a duplex or small apartment building somewhere, then it would be that much easier to share meals (and magazines, and books, and music, and tools, and…) Maybe someday we’ll find a place.
I also wish we could’ve made it out to Jitters to see John Starkey and hang out with our friend Keith. I don’t know why parking in Minneapolis is such a hang up for me. I just can’t get over having to pay like six dollars, just to put our car somewhere. Hopefully, soon, I will have a road bike, and be able to bike more places. And then I’ll ride my bike down to Jitters.
