a.k.a. what I learned from Tony Soprano

There are three steps to being confident:

1. Realize who you are. You are an amazing creation! There is no one else like you. And if you were like everyone else, or like the ‘top’ %3 in the media, then you wouldn’t be interesting. But guess what? You aren’t them… you are you. Created uniquely by God to be exactly who you are.

2. Realize who those around you are. Confidence never hurt anyone, but overconfidence will be the death of you. The ‘best’ confident people are those who love people around them and make them feel special too. Don’t walk on people to make yourself feel bigger, because you’ll crush them and yourself in the long run.

3. The Catch 22 golden rule. Treat yourself as you would treat others, and treat others as you would have them treat you. Or to put it another way, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” –JC

That’s true confidence.
