Independent Study

I have finalized the syllabus for my independent study on the centered set church.

This course will be an exploration of how discipleship is developed and encouraged in a Centered Set model of the Church. The primary goal of the course is to write an academic treatment of the subject worthy of submission for publication. This paper will explore the differences between a bounded and centered set models of church, what binds people (internal or external) to the bounded set model, Biblical and historical models of discipleship, and a proposal for encouraging dicipleship within the centered set model.

This gives me the opportunity to focus my study in this area and get some credit at the same time. I don’t want to treat this whole thing as an academic pursuit, but I do want to be honest about my intention to study this in depth.
